Love thy city as thyself?

Ok so yes,  I'm a bit defensive about my dear city of Buffalo.  I get offended when people hate on my city.  I know some of you may feel the same way.

Living in Greenville (which BTW, do not make the mistake of calling Greenville, Greenvegas on Twitter...you will start a riot) has been an adjustment for me.  My passion was (and still is) Buffalo.  I have yet to find that same passion in Greenville.  Sorry folks, I've been here 3 months, give me a little room!

However, when I was in Buffalo and met a Buffalo hater I did my best to show them the good side of the city I love.  Whether it was taking them out to a new great hangout or recommending some restaurants (as we know Buffalo is famous for them!)  I just did my best to be a great ambassador for the city.

Folks this is why I'm certain some metro areas are suffering.  Because those living in those cities are not becoming accommodating to us new folks?  I take that back, I've met some great people. I have and I'm very lucky to have found them.

However,  some of you need to calm down.  Instead of blasting a person for taking a little longer to realize the great in a place, how about let her in and show her your fun side.

Let's not take it to Twitter people.  I really dislike it.  And if you know me, you know that's not always a good thing.

Sounds like you ran into a few not so hot GVL Twitters. *shrugs* Go fig, it happens in every group.

I do agree w/ your sentiments on showing the haters what makes your city (or in my case, state) cool. With that thought in mind, one good turn deserves another...

I'm not sure where you buy your music from, but you should give earshot a go. A nice, knowledgeable staff and a store that has that indie record store feel to it. I make a trip up from Clemson at least twice a month just to look around.

I'd suggest Smoke on the Water as a cool place to eat, but it looks ilke you've already found that out.

Thank you! That's on Laurens Road correct? I noticed it and have been meaning to stop by. I think I just might do that today. And yes Smoke on the Water is awesome! One of my favorite places so far. Thanks for being so friendly and accommodating!

Yep, that's it. If I'm not mistaken they're open late (10pm) so they're easy to fit into your schedule. If you like 'em, sign up for their email newsletter at the counter. Occasionally there's nifty coupon or two in there.
